Fotona Light Peel – Ablative

A light peel using an Erbium:YAG laser is a minimally invasive skin resurfacing treatment that targets the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermis). It is designed to improve mild skin imperfections like fine lines, dullness, and uneven tone, with minimal discomfort and downtime. Here’s an in-depth overview:

Service Description

What is a Light Erbium:YAG Laser Peel?

  • Light resurfacing: The laser gently removes the outermost layer of the skin, encouraging cell turnover and revealing fresh, glowing skin underneath.

  • Erbium:YAG Laser (2940 nm): Targets water in the skin with precision, ensuring controlled exfoliation with virtually no damage to surrounding tissue.

Procedure Details

  1. Preparation:

    • The skin is cleansed, and a numbing cream is usually not required due to the mild nature of the procedure.

    • Some patients may use pretreatment skincare (e.g., gentle exfoliants or moisturizers) to prepare the skin.

  2. Treatment:

    • The laser is applied to the skin in a controlled manner, removing the epidermis and stimulating mild collagen production.

    • The treatment depth is shallow, focusing on enhancing skin texture and radiance.

  3. Duration:

    • A light peel session typically takes 15–30 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

  4. Post-Treatment:

    • The skin will appear slightly pink and may feel mildly tight, like a sunburn.

Benefits

  • Immediate Glow: Reveals fresher, smoother, and brighter skin almost instantly.

  • Minimal Downtime: Perfect for those with busy schedules as recovery time is short.

  • Safe and Gentle: Ideal for sensitive skin and first-time laser treatment patients.

  • Prevents Aging: Stimulates mild collagen production for ongoing skin health.

  • Treats Mild Issues: Improves fine lines, light pigmentation, and dullness.

Ideal Candidates

Light Erbium:YAG laser peels are suitable for:

  • Individuals with mild imperfections, such as fine lines, uneven tone, or slight roughness.

  • Those with dull skin looking for a quick refresh.

  • People with sensitive skin or those new to laser treatments.

  • All skin types, including fair to medium and darker skin tones (with appropriate settings and care).

Not recommended for:

  • Patients with active skin infections (e.g., cold sores or acne).

  • Those with significant skin laxity, deep wrinkles, or scars (better suited for medium or deep peels).

Downtime

  • Immediate Effects: Slight redness and mild flaking for 1–3 days, similar to a light sunburn.

  • Healing Time: Full recovery within 3–5 days.

  • Comfort: Minimal discomfort, often described as a mild stinging or tingling sensation during the procedure.

Results

  • Short-Term: Skin looks fresher, smoother, and more radiant immediately after healing.

  • Long-Term: With repeated treatments, collagen production is enhanced, leading to gradual improvement in skin texture and firmness.

Comparison to Medium and Deep Peels

  • Least Invasive: Targets only the epidermis, with virtually no downtime or risk of side effects.

  • Mild Results: Ideal for early signs of aging or as maintenance between deeper treatments.

  • Quick Recovery: Heals much faster than medium or deep peels, with no significant peeling or redness.

A light Erbium:YAG peel is perfect for those seeking a “lunchtime” rejuvenation with minimal disruption to their daily life. It’s a gentle yet effective way to maintain youthful, healthy skin!

  • If any crusting or scabbing occurs, use Occlusiderm more often. Do not let your skin dry out. Dryness causes pulling on the new skin underneath, which may cause red, irritated areas. Apply your moisturizer gently – Do not rub it in hard. This should reduce tightness and make you more comfortable.
  • Do not worry if all of the ointment/moisturizer doesn’t come off when you wash; it won’t harm your face to leave some on. Do not pick or rub your skin! Your dark old skin (which will peel off) initially serves as a protective bandage, which protects the fresh new skin underneath.
  • It is important that you try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing the skin off your chin or check area prematurely.
  • If you have any unexpected irritation or possible infection, call the 0460778605 immediately. This is especially important if you are developing crusted yellowish areas appear on your face.
  • You must not pick or rub your skin.
  • Do not go out in the sun at all while crusting or peeling – even for 5 minutes. After the laser treatment, wear sunscreen daily. Use a Covid Mask to Cover up
  • Do not use any other creams or ointments (such as bleaching creams, Retin-A, or glycolic acid) until or if you instructed by us or a professional.
  • Tip: After 4 days stand longer in the shower and let the steam loosing the scabs or peeling. With pressure use your palms or finger tips and rub slowly and hard, you should start to feel skin crumbs fall off
