Tattoo Removal

Effective and Safe Solution for Multi-Colored Tattoos

Service Description

Price varies for each tattoo and will be given on consultation.

Tattoo removal is a complex treatment with various factors to consider before proceeding. Different coloured ink, the age of the tattoo and the type of tattoo, for example whether it is an amateur or professional tattoo, will affect the removal process and its results. A patient’s lifestyle, tolerance of the treatment and financial circumstances will also need careful consideration.

Laser therapy is the best way to have a tattoo removed and the technology involved plays a big role – Q switch laser tattoo removal is considered the most superior in this category. The Fotona laser has Q switch technology as well as a hybrid technology combining the high energy capabilities of nanosecond lasers with the ultrashort pulse peak powers of traditional picosecond lasers. It combines 4 complementary wavelengths to cover a broad range of applications and colour treatments. Many patients seek out a pure pico laser for tattoo removal, the Fotona Starwalker, gives the best of all these technologies with outstanding results.

The laser sends energy into the skin which penetrates past the top layer of skin and reaches the dermal layer, where the tattoo ink particles sit. The laser energy breaks the ink particles down into multiple smaller pieces so that they can naturally be excreted from the body.

The journey of tattoo removal can be a long process, but the best equipment and techniques will not only speed up the process significantly but make the journey a more pleasant and manageable experience.

Fotona Tattoo Removal Technology

We offers the latest high powered laser Q-switch technology from Fotona, along with the hybrid technology described above to optimize results. Its innovative technology means deeper pigmented tattoos can be reached and removed, so patients have better results even in a single session. Its laser beam profile means increased safety as the energy is evenly distributed across the treated area. Skin damage is minimized and the risk of bleeding, tissue damage and textural changes in the skin are decreased. Once the ink particles in the skin have been broken down, the lymphatic system will get to work dispersing and removing the ink naturally.

But we have an added stage in our tattoo removal that makes it unique. An additional patented treatment stage (Fotona FracTATT) minimizes skin blistering and scarring significantly and speeds recovery. Local topical anesthetic can be applied prior to treatment but may not be necessary.

We have had great success using this particular laser technique and we are able to achieve the best possible results for our patients.

Expected results

Every patient and tattoo is different; Amateur tattoos are the easiest to remove whereas professional ones may require more treatment sessions. Therefore, the length of treatment course may vary but we would generally recommend between 4-8 treatment sessions at 6-8 week intervals to achieve maximum results.

Inflammation, small blood spots and some tenderness may be seen/felt over the treated area 1-2 days post treatment. The tattoo will slowly begin to fade between sessions, as the body’s immune system gets to work removing the ink particles. A thorough consultation and aftercare advice will be given at every session to ensure the treatment’s best possible outcome.

Post care

  • Day of treatment: We kindly ask you to leave the Gel Application that the therapist has put in the clinic room for the next 24 hours. (If you need to pray, a splash of water is fine)
  • Next Day: Use Cetaphil or any gently cleanser with no Acids to rinse your face gently for 10 to 30 seconds, twice a day, AM + PM with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry. Do not rub!
  • Apply stratcel and Bapanthen am + pm for 3 days.
  • Optional: Apply Enlighten Serum or Vitamin C (both pigment inhibitors) every day and night until the bottle runs empty.
  • After 3 days Apply Occlusiderm + Stratacel all over the face morning and Night for 7 to 10 days.
  • Apply SPF50+ in the morning.
  • After 7 or 10 days, depending on your downtime, you can resume your skincare routine.
  • If any crusting or scabbing occurs, use Occlusiderm more often. Do not let your skin dry out. Dryness causes pulling on the new skin underneath, which may cause red, irritated areas. Apply your moisturizer gently – Do not rub it in hard. This should reduce tightness and make you more comfortable.
  • Do not worry if all of the ointment/moisturizer doesn’t come off when you wash; it won’t harm your face to leave some on. Do not pick or rub your skin! Your dark old skin (which will peel off) initially serves as a protective bandage, which protects the fresh new skin underneath.
  • It is important that you try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing the skin off your chin or check area prematurely.
  • If you have any unexpected irritation or possible infection, call the 0460778605 immediately. This is especially important if you are developing crusted yellowish areas appear on your face.
  • You must not pick or rub your skin.
  • Do not go out in the sun at all while crusting or peeling – even for 5 minutes. After the laser treatment, wear sunscreen daily. Use a Covid Mask to Cover up
  • Do not use any other creams or ointments (such as bleaching creams, Retin-A, or glycolic acid) until or if you instructed by us or a professional.
  • Tip: After 4 days stand longer in the shower and let the steam loosing the scabs or peeling. With pressure use your palms or finger tips and rub slowly and hard, you should start to feel skin crumbs fall off
